NEWTON APPOINTS CHRISTOPHER METCALFE

Newton Investment Management Limited has appointed Christopher Metcalfe as a senior portfolio manager within its UK Equities team. Metcalfe, who joins later this month, will report to Jeff Munroe, Chief Investment Officer.

At Newton Metcalfe will focus on institutional portfolio management and, like all members of the UK Equity team, will help guide Newton's wider global portfolio management team on UK equity investment matters.

Prior to joining Newton, Metcalfe spent over 10 years at Schroder Investment Management where he was Director and Head of the UK Equity Prime team. He joined Schroder in 1994 from Henderson Administration Group, where he spent 10 years and rose to the position Head of UK Equities.
