CLAIRE BLACKWELL TO SPEARHEAD NEWTON'S INSTITUTIONAL MARKETING

Newton Investment Management Limited has announced the appointment of Claire Blackwell as Institutional Marketing Director. She joined on 30 April reporting to Mark Scott, Head of Institutional Business at Newton.

Blackwell's role will be pivotal to the development and implementation of Newton's institutional marketing strategy covering activity directed towards clients in the corporate, local authority, treasury and pensions markets (both segregated and pooled).

Blackwell joins after six years at Mercer Investment Consulting where she was most recently, Global Director of Business Development and Marketing. In addition to her global remit, she assumed strategic and operational duties as European Director of Business Development and Marketing. Prior to this Blackwell spent three years at Investec Asset Management in the Client Services and Business Development teams in both Cape Town and London. During this time she implemented a global CRM system, serviced institutional funds and oversaw the integration and reconstruction of the business development and client service teams following Investec's acquisition of Guinness Flight Hambro.
