BNY Mellon Asset Management launches new dynamic bond product
BNY Mellon Global Dynamic Bond Fund managed by Newton
London
29 September 2010
BNY Mellon Asset Management has announced the launch of a new global bond fund, the BNY Mellon Global Dynamic Bond Fund. The Dublin domiciled Fund, a sub-fund of BNY Mellon Global Funds, plc, will be managed by Newton Investment Management Limited, one of BNY Mellon's boutique asset managers.
The BNY Mellon Global Dynamic Bond Fund will be managed by Paul Brain, leader fixed income, at Newton. Brain heads up a team of eight bond specialists and has over 26 years of investment experience and will seek to deliver positive returns by finding the best opportunities for investment in the following fixed-income asset classes: global government bonds, emerging-market sovereign debt and corporate bonds. In addition to investing in long positions in the diversified global bond markets, the Fund is able to use derivatives to have a negative government bond duration during periods of rising bond yields. The allocation between the different types of bond markets will provide most of the capital protection and potential gains.
The BNY Mellon Global Dynamic Bond Fund is based on the successful UK domiciled strategy, the Newton Global Dynamic Bond Fund, which has had a return of 36.41% since its launch in April 2006 *.
